The Attraction Process in 4 steps
Here's the process for deliberately attracting what you want (most of us spend our time inadvertently attracting what we don't want!)

Step 1 - get clear on what you want
Step 2 - ask for it
Step 3 - trust that it will arrive
Step 4 - work on aligning 'you' with what you want, so you
can receive it.

Just let it go, or you'll get more of the same...
The Law of Attraction works like a giant mirror, giving you back whatever you've been putting out - and very quickly too! When I say 'putting out', what I mean are the feelings that you've been feeling - if you've been feeling happy and content, you'll receive lots more opportunities to feel happy and content. If you've been feeling angry, guess what? You'll get more circumstances that prompt an angry response in you.

Most of us experience many varied feelings over the course of a day, and thus experience many events and circumstances that mirror those feelings - we get to feel them all over again, without being aware of what is happening. Once we decide to deliberately create the life that we want and the feelings we want to feel, we have to become a lot more conscious of what we're feeling in every moment.

Feelings are much misunderstood, they've got themselves a bad press, or at least some of them have. We tend to believe that it's okay to feel happy, optimistic, a whole gamut of positive emotions but that negative emotions are to be avoided. We don't like to acknowledge that we're feeling grouchy or whiny or jealous or malicious - and yet the feelings we experience are all just messengers to tell us bodily what our thoughts have been.

When we can simply note the feeling, acknowledge it and let it go, the feeling has done its job, you've got the message and it can leave.  But if we don't acknowledge the feelings, if we deny we're feeling them, they get "stuck" within us, and are sitting there vibrating all day long, bringing us more and more circumstances where we get to feel (and deny) that feeling all over again.

So if you're fearful of something, you'll attract more and more circumstances that give you the opportunity to feel that fear once more. As soon as you start having the courage to face your fear and watch it fade away, it's no longer in your vibration, so you'll no longer attract the circumstances that trigger it. Feel the fear and do it anyway!

Mind the gap! What are you thinking about when you're not thinking
The theory behind attraction says that what you focus on is what you get, that a thought held long enough becomes manifest.

Sometimes these repeated thoughts show up as our beliefs, which can either support us - imagine if you didn't believe you were on the next day when you woke up each morning, shades of Groundhog Day - or hold us back from being who we want to be or doing the things we really want to do.

In our study group we've tried out lots of different methods of keeping our attention on what we want rather than on what we don't want - because, again, what you focus on is what you eventually get. We use visions, daily visualisation, visual reminders, singing, reading, bouncing on trampolines, being grateful and even rubber bands when necessary - we're dedicated and ingenious students!

And we need to mind the gaps - the gaps between our bouts of focused thoughts, the gaps when you're just driving the car or hanging out the washing, painting a fence, when your mind is in idle - where is it focused when you're not taking charge of it? When you're not thinking about what you're thinking but simply.... thinking, where are you focused then? It's either towards all that you can be and do and have or it's towards the lack of the very things you say you want. Your choice!

Attraction - in a nutshell
In a nutshell, working with attraction can be defined as "What you focus on is what you get".

It works on the assumption that your thoughts have some effect on your behaviour and your results.

Some say this is due to the working of your subconscious mind. Or to your connection with your spirit guides, or to the Divine Power.

Those who favour the Attraction approach say it is because we are beings of energy, energy that vibrates and that like energies attract similar energies.

I don't think it really matters which approach you take, I'd go with whichever theory fits with your belief system - but the techniques that we've been using are making a huge difference for us, not only in the results that are showing up but in our overall sense of well-being and joy.

I'll share more with you over the coming weeks - do keep visiting!
